Inspired by La Danza del Venado, practiced by the Yaqui and Mayo people, in what now is Sinaloa and Sonora. It's a ritual dance depicting a deer and a hunter, and the (Spoiler Alert!) killing of the deer. It's stylized and dramatic movements, having changed very little since the pre-hispanic period, hypnotize with it's grace and strength. The performace starts with a bare chested man, wearing a white headress with the head of a deer on top, rattles in both hands and leg shakers in place, imitating a deer and it's movements as if it was walking through a forest, the Paskola, or Hunter(s), wearing big masks and armed with bows and arrows, come closer throughout the dance until they finally accomplish their goal, and the deer lays on the ground.
