About The Artwork
This work was painted in aid of the annual National Brain Appeal, a charity which is dedicated to fundraising through art for the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the University College Queen Square Institute of Neurology, London. The appeal is titled 'A Letter in Mind' and has been running for ten years. Artists are requested to make a work on an envelope to a set theme. The theme for 2023 was 'Changing Perspectives' which is the title I have given the work.

My introduction to film making was through the director Peter Watkins for whom I worked as a student on the films Culloden and The War Game. My introduction to writing was through BBC, The Guardian and The Irish Times. My introduction to sculpture was through Eric Schilsky in Edinburgh and to painting through Mark Ainsworth at Belfast College of Art.
