Clouds Come Floating Into My Life Print

The artwork was inspired by a combination of quotes and statements, the first one being the quote by Paulo Coelho, "I knew then that we were like the clouds that fill the sky so that you can no longer tell where one ends and where one begins." This inspired the unique perspective of creating a painting that took a snippet of clouds so that there was no reference point of land to visually capture the size of the clouds. They are endless and all encompassing, with no beginning and no end. Nothing else exist in the moment of viewing the clouds, but the very nature of them. The second quote is by Rabindranath Tagore, "Clouds come floating into my life, no0 longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky". This quote speaks of hope and this is something I wanted to capture in my artwork. That despite the ominous clouds, there is always hope and the storm clouds will pass. Finally, the last quote by Julia Greyson, "When I look up, it widens our horizons. We see what a little speck we are in the universe, so insignificant, and we all take ourselves so seriously, but in the sky, there are no boundaries, no differences of caste or religion, or race". In the artwork I wanted to capture the concept of there being no boundaries in the sky. Only freedom. I hope that when viewers gaze on my artwork that they will experience complete freedom from whatever society has inflected on them and know that they can live without these mental chains.
