Irene Salvatori is a contemporary artist who lives and works in Rome. From an early age Salvatori has been in contact with the artistic environment though she began her personal artistic research while completing her university education. Her formation took place in the roman and parisian cultural milieux, while attending Ecole Nationale Superiure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and exhibiting in numerous group shows between 1999 and 2002. She also attended the Accademia Libera di Nudo San Giacomo in Rome. She earned her BA in the Humanities with an emphasis in archeology and later got an BA in Philosophy from the same university. Due to her passion for archeology Salvatori traveled in different areas of the world, from Europe to Africa, to the far east in order to get a first hand experience of our collective historical memory. After working as an archeologist and as a professor of philosophy, and being a founding member of Storicum, an association devoted to disseminating art and archeology, Salvatori is now a full time practicing artist. The work of Salvatori is often populated with citations from archeology and philosophy, which act as continuum in the artist's professional experience. Through art Salvatori renders her very multifaceted experiences, making them visible and shared. Her artistic language is eclectic, sounding every corner of art's literature, spanning from hyper-realism to high modernist and conceptual art. Her very unique style is an expressive and, may we say, synthetic, in opposition to disciplinary divisions and fragmentations. Irene Salvatori has showed at the Elsa Morante Library in Rome in 2005 for the exhibition Panta Rei and later the AMREF exhibition. She participated in the same year in an artistic event organized by the county of Siena, Italy. Salvatori's activity intensified since 2005. Between 2006 and 2009 Salvatori's work has featured in group and solo shows at the Galleria Pentart in Rome. Worth of notice is the 2008 solo show "Il Vento e l'Ombra" and the 2009 "Segreti" at the Galleria Del Vecchio in Via dei Coronari in Rome, and also "D'amore e d'ombra" at the Hara Gallery, Rome. She has showed between 2008 and 2010 in several cities, among which Bologna, Viterbo, Biella and Milan. In 2012-2013 Salvatori has been in numerous group shows organized by Association Eureka Eventi. In 2014-2015 she worked for the Coronari Art Gallery in Rome, which show has been presented at the Palermo Biennale curated by Vittorio Sgarbi.
