ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Bronze Ware tripod, Shoumianwending, has a round body, a deep belly, and a thin wall. The flat rim is folded outward, and there are double vertical hander on the rim. There are three flat feet under the abdomen, the feet are in the shape of Kui, with the head facing upward and the tail as the fulcrum. The neck is decorated with animal face patterns and no ground patterns.The tripod is the most important type of bronze ritual vessel. It began to appear in the Erlitou Culture period in archeology and was used until the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is the longest popular bronze vessel.
