About The Artwork
I live near countryside where wild deer roam freely in the woodland and have been fortunate enough to catch sight of these beautiful animals on a number of occasions. I also love to walk through the woods on days when shafts of sunlight filter through the trees and illuminate hidden delights. I wrote the poem below on my way home from such a walk, and felt inspired to paint the scene the very next day! DEER LIGHT Meandering through the forest In the early hours of dawn, There they stand in golden light The stag, the deer and the fawn. You halt your step, you catch your breath For this moment to linger on. But a rustling leaf, a snapping twig One beat of the heart and they're gone The original painting will be mounted in a 20" x 16" ivory white mount, ready for you to frame (frame not included). Born and brought up in the beautiful surroundings of Yorkshire, I am always amazed at the play of light and colour that completely changes the appearance of the environment, its people and wildlife. Creating art is my way of capturing the sights, sounds, moods and memories of subjects that fascinate me. I am constantly striving to reflect the impact of light and colour into my own artwork.
