Dancers Backstage Print

Two women in dancer's attire, one seated and one standing who appear to be waiting backstage in yellows, reds, black and gray tones. In this series of paintings, I’m inspired by Master Artists such as Matisse and Diebenkorn and Abstract Expressionists, such as DeKooning and Mitchell and contemporary “Street Art”. I love to use subjects from an earlier time and place them in contemporary settings. I layer styles to create a camouflage of colors, textures and movement between negative and positive space. My emphasis is on colorful abstraction and texture and its emotional impact on the viewer.
