About The Artwork

René turns to the symbolism of geometry to share his life philosophies. The Calligraphy and Circles in his art become a representation of life, death & the overlooked moments day-to-day that shape our paths. Mixture of graffiti roots with fine art academy carries the roots of his urban memories, but they are no longer directly connected to letters. Instead of letters the artist uses a self created language with his Glossolalia calligraphy. These elements are in dialog or sometimes interrupted by organic and dynamic forms. The circular shape plays a role in many Native American beliefs and traditions but also for other cultures in the world. This shape represents the continuous pattern of life and death, the path of the sun and moon, and other significant rituals.
