About The Artwork

The concept of staying awake all the time is so interesting, and I always wonder how much more I could accomplish if sleep was not necessary. My girlfriend had showed me a picture of an actual neon sign that stated this phrase on her Pinterest, and I wanted to pay tribute with a painting of my own. I hope viewers feel exhausted when they see this and see the cool side of hard work and little sleep, and how much it takes out of someone who refuses to sleep in order to follow a different kind of dream... This neon light red brick word art sign represents todays society and all of us; it's not an exclusive club. I wanted to make it's style match this message, which is why I used a combo of oil, acrylic and spray paints to set the scene, and used modeling paste to mold the letters onto the canvas in order to create a 3d, raised effect with the words.

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I build art. I use conventional and unconventional raw materials to add texture, depth, smoothness and detailing to cover a blank canvas. From there, I grab a random color of paint and start applying it to the canvas. Taking a step back, I'll look at the canvas and examine what's taking form. Based on what I see forming, I then develop that image until the character or object emerges, and then continue to make edits until I feel it's complete. Nothing is off limits during the development process. Sometime I add resin and spray paint. Sometimes I apply modeling paste with brushes or palette knives or fingers. These paintings have a life of their own. Because no rules are set, the painting evolves with age due to the technique and materials used. And no painting is complete either, until sold. I constantly act on impulsive ideas in the spur of the moment and will change a painting entirely or only slightly, depending on the idea. Some I never touch a second time.
