About The Artwork
Living in the Sonora Desert in Arizona, I often saw coyotes wandering. They were always solitary. Like me. Maybe like you. Sunflowers are abundant in the Arizona desert. It is a place like no other in our country, and the stark beauty inspires colorful images. What if the sky had a sunflower instead of a sun? What if I became friends with a coyote? Isn't a coyote really a wild dog? I painted 2 pictures of my desert dog friend. This is one of them.

Northeast Texas girl, I was born and raised in beautiful Marshall, TX, surrounded by deep piney woods, creeks, lakes, flowering trees and fields and friendly Texans. The influence of the desert on the colors was phenomenal. Surrounded by Native American artwork and the work of other desert artists was an amazingly influential experience.
