This work with the title Behind, is included within the group of works that the painter called in his day as "Classic Series". A metaphysical scene, with a symbology related to Greek art. In the scene, simple and mysterious, a sculpture is located behind a cypress tree, all in front of a textured background with a chromatic treatment of ocher and glaze. The plane is divided into two vertical bands, leaving a narrower band to the left of the work, where some spots in blue tones can be guessed, like unfolded shadows of the main figure. This main figure is a model that the painter has used and corresponds to a sculpture named Admiration that has been located in the exterior windows of the Prado Museum in Madrid. The windows of the Prado Museum contain a series of sculptures related to the Fine Arts and the painter has used them as a model in several of his works.
