The book was a gift to us from a Spaniard! Stories are like pebbles in a sling that can make us cross the barriers of time. They bring us memories from the past and can take us to magical lands that don’t exist. We experience stories with feelings that are sometimes real and often imagined. Nostalgic conversations are almost always filled with smiles and laughter. Memories evoke a wistfulness that is infectious. In this series of paintings, I draw inspiration from mythology, history and fiction that provide a frame to our life in the present. We are the carriers of history and literature, the windows that will showcase our times to the future. The sparrows in the paintings are you, the viewer and me, as we watch the times pass by.
