About The Artwork
This is a painting of a garden from memory, seen in The Costwolds England during a trip to visit the villages my family come from. During the course of painting it the subject changed to a dream I had where everything was covered in ice. The viewer might like to imagine a kind of winter wonderland, where anything is possible. I am a landscape painter, inspired by a sense of place but often my work becomes more abstract as it progresses, I enjoy the interplay between shape, colour, fine art and imagination and mythology. It's interesting to see how the mind changes things according to the subsequent influences.
