About The Artwork
This is a piece that has evolved over time with several layers, adding to the underlying texture. Colors were determined and as it developed, the piece reminded me of a volcanic eruption-yet similar to Jackson Pollak. Fluid consistency of the paint mixed with medium helped to direct the flow and movement that created the feel of volcanic activity. A few tiny specs of red tease to what could follow in seismic activity. Darker tones of grey give the sense of smoke and lava. Eruption was truly a fun piece to finally complete. Sides are painted in a medium grey, study wire installed on the back-ready to hang.

I am originally from the Chicago area, but currently reside in the Santa Marianita area near Manta, Ecuador. I have been involved in both art and photography since high school and my style has evolved to become more and more of the abstract expressionist type over time. I paint with acrylics and my pieces often contain multiple layers of paint, textures along with transparency to create depth. Most recently, some of the colors in my work have been influenced by living at the beach with blues, aquas and golden hues. Living in Ecuador also allows me the time to continue to create new work and explore new ideas.
