About The Artwork

Heavily influenced not only by the Corsica island's landscape, but also by the vegetables and fruits from my garden this painting it's part of a series project called "My Garden's Fruits" and advocates (not far from current political/social problems) the ideals of food sovereignty and autonomy, the relationship between Man and Nature and the creation of one's own food. Inviting the viewer to reflect on these same themes, while through intense colors and skies, I try to create a dense atmosphere and offer a visual experience strongly inspired by impressionist and expressionist painting from the beginning of the 20th century ( main theme of my Masters Thesis) , which makes us reflect on the power and beauty of nature as the embodiment of art. Acrylic on canvas it's my predilect medium using usually Amsterdam or LeFrancBourgois paints, not only by it's color potential but also for its driyng speed qualities wich allow's me to paint by layers. Frame's not included.

1986, Lisbon, Portugal. Currently living in Corsica Island (France) I'm the father of three little boys (my truly masterpieces). After that and in the course of my research I intent to approach what I believe to be the essence of painting and art, based on a personal way to capture nature, life and the World considering them as the form of supreme art. This returns to an impressionist / expressionism project invites a reflection about the values and morals of contemporary art, and to a pretentious aesthetical search, based on landscape and pictorial plasticity. Thank you
