This painting is one of a 12 piece series called Dress Yourself In Pink And Gold: I Can See Right Through Me. The series is a meditation on how we present ourselves to the world; the layers we use to cover up our fears and scars, our bumps and bruises, that, when combined into a whole, form into the beautiful tableau of the human condition. Each piece has a specific set of fears etched or written into it. Some of the words are very legible and some are scraped away or layered over with paint so that they, much the same way our own fears and wounds, are at some times more or less visible to the eye. This series was inspired by the toll of the pandemic forcing me to make some major life changes, and how the uprooting of my life and making a major move to a new city forced me to take a look at myself and confront a lot of my own fears about myself and the world around me for better or worse, tho I think ultimately for the better.

Corey TuT is a multidisciplinary artist in the fields of painting, design, music, photography and video. As a musician, TuT has toured the world, worked with artists as diverse as Ad Rock from Beastie Boys, Ultra Nate, and Peppermint and his music has been featured in countless movies and television shows. His photos have been published in the Village Voice and The Dallas Observer, and his paintings have been seen and collected around the world. Largely self taught, TuT’s insatiable curiosity and process of trial and error has kept his artistic journey fresh and ever evolving, and he is constantly surprised how one medium influences another. “Each piece I create, be it is a painting or a song or a photo, intersects and overlaps to guide my artistic journey. All the pieces tend to come from where I am at that particular time in my life, what I am thinking about and experiencing. It’s about observing, listening and following the breadcrumbs. Put them all together and you get a pretty accurate reflection of my life.” says TuT. His latest venture, Yes Homo Apparel is an LGBT clothing and accessories line which allowed TuT to flex his creative muscle as a designer and he has found that the color palettes of his designs crossing over into his painting. “It all springs from the same well, and I love to see how the work influences each other. I get fascinated by a color or a feeling and it bleeds into all areas of my work. It tells my story.” To see more of TuT’s work, visit .
