Faith is giving all she has. She is stretched to the literal last tippy-toe and full of determination. She comes as she is, indifferent of her disheveled appearance , to offer the little—yet beautiful—gift that she has. Faith propels us into action, to persevere and to summon the seemingly last of our strength. Through faith, we can come as we are, with whatever gifts we can offer, with trepidation, doubt and joy and knock on that door. Faith emboldens us to take the sum of our hopes and to make them real. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 The Divine Virtues: With this series, I played with the concept of biblical terms having been formerly frequently used as girls’ names. I searched for girls that would physically express their names, literally jumping with joy when each girl was found. I did not know at the time, but these three names comprise The Divine Virtues. I found the fitting Bible verse translation in the little silver edged King James Bible my parents gave me: “And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.” 1 Cor 13:3
