Falling to a thistles’ field Print

The thistle is an indigenous plant in Maltese garigue that is quite outstanding and bigger than varieties from overseas. I was inspired by thistles and a windy sunset that was unusual, almost unearthly on that day bringing some mysterious feeling of surrender and serenity. I hope that viewers will think about extraordinary natural beauty that they can find in simple things that surround us and appreciate their uniqueness in life and universe at the same time. I like to use palette knives with acrylic on canvas as this technique gives texture, volume and depth to painting. I prefer Impressionism and expressionism as styles truest to my aesthetic views.
