ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is wired and ready to hang. From an ongoing series of nudes in which I explore the depth of the human mind through painting the physical body. With an emphasis on color and light, I place the subjects in an ambiguous reality - drawing the viewer in with interesting poses and utilizing negative space to further explore that which is intangible. The connection between mind - body - soul is endlessly fascinating to me. I am always striving to push the subject in different ways, through new techniques and different color combinations

Meredith O'Neal is a Texas native who specializes in paintings depicting wildlife and the natural world. Though interested in art from a very young age, Meredith didn't take her first painting class until her freshman year of college at Texas State University. She received her undergraduate degree in both Painting and Photography a few years later. She then moved to California and received a masters degree in painting at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2012. Meredith has since moved back to Texas where she now lives and works near Houston as a full time artist with her husband and two young children. She enjoys traveling and spending most weekends on her family's ranch property in Huntsville, Texas.
