About The Artwork

When a boy was born to a family in Japan, a koi flag was hung over the house. But, as they say, hope for good luck, but don't make a mistake yourself - carps have to fight for life, overcome obstacles in order to get food and continue the race. Koi is a symbol of not only good luck, but also victory, perseverance, courage in the fight. And also a symbol of an independent nature and fortitude. But at the same time, koi carps in Japan are a symbol of love, even the words "love" and "koi" are the same in Japanese. The poppy, in turn, was a multifaceted symbol among different peoples. There are many legends and myths about it, poppy - a symbol of happiness, eternal love, joy. Buddhists were firmly convinced that the poppy appeared after the sleeping Buddha touched the ground with his eyelashes. In China, there is a legend that those fish that can climb up the Yellow River fall into the realm of the Dragon and as a result of their struggle for success, the carp koi becomes a dragon or fish dragon. Therefore, this fish is called the king of all fish, it is considered a symbol of power and superiority.

Good day! My name is Anna Shabalova and I am a professional artist from Ukraine. In many of my works, you will find kind of surreal stories filled with positive imagery, vibrant colors and interesting detail. In which my personal view of such a rich world around us is reflected. I also write quite realistic stories that will appeal to collectors of more conservative views. At this time, my artworks are held in private collections in the USA, Israel, Europe and Ukraine. Among my works, you will definitely find that special painting that you like and will decorate your interior. Member of the National Association of Artists and Sculptors of Ukraine.
