This painting has been built up over the last two years. I started it as one of my seasons changing series, however my thoughts changed with the time. My mind was full of climate change and how man is accelerating the problem. I have symbolised this with a man-made stone wall strong at first but crumbling away at the end of this scene. Trees play part a strong part in all my work. In this scene, you can see all the seasons changing from winter to Autumn and towards the end of the painting trees dying in marsh lands in the moon light. Also in this scene, it is a bright sunny day in the winter at the start, then there is a sunset in autumn then a dark moon lit night at the end This painting is a diptych with each canvas measuring 150cm wide. The overall size is 300cm X 100cm and is textured in parts with pallet knife and brush, the more you look the more you will see. This painting is textured and layered overtime with a palette knife and brush and is painted around the sides so it can be hung without a frame. All paintings are packaged in a wooden box and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Hazel Thomson is a multi-award-winning artist. Her process of painting is almost sculptural, as she purposely adds thick layers of paint and marks with a pallet knife. She then takes away or adds more paint over these marks when dry, as the scene starts to take shape. This gives her work a textual and realist look and feel, so the viewer can be lost momentarily within the scene. In her work Hazel sends out a message of not only the beauty of trees, but also how important they are to the future of the climate.
