ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I was inspired seeing work of Petter Woolley watercolor artist from UK. Same - the colors that appear on this paitning are personally observed in Northern Norway (late Autumn), and my experiments with wet-in-wet watercolor techniques was deepen. The panoramic format of this piece was chosen to enhance the perception of aerial perspective, strenghten the depth of field, bring some dynamisms into fall landscape. Format: 20 x 40.5 cm, pure watercolors on Fabriano watercolour pPaper 300gsm Cold Pressed.

I am a landscape architect, geographer and GIS specialist by proffesion and education. Nordland County, in Northern Norway where I live, inspires me hugely every single day. Here dynamic lights and colours create ever-changing contrasts. The impulse to draw and paint (especially watercolours) comes “naturally” from many hours I use for outdoor life (nature photographing). My entire workflow: from moving in time and space (with camera and sketchbook) and developing of ideas (concept sketches) to later painting process at home; is like the inner reaction to the Nature and encountered People. I like to visually immerse in-depth, and may be entirely “taken” by this process for hours. One must also learn anew to "see" things (composition, story-telling, framing the moment to fit later canvass, colours-contrasts-shadows-textures etc.) all around us. I found that during creation of art I may achieve more spirituallity and better life balance.
