Life is a struggle. Life is a fight against all odds. Your hands are not tied. You don't have any hands, fists or arms. You only have fins. And you have a face made for receiving punches. The fish you're fighting against is tough. It has fast feet, long arms and a devastating punch. Just ask your face. Every fight worth fighting is a fight against something bigger, stronger, faster than we are. Every fight worth fighting is already lost. Death comes for all, both humans and fish. Death is a loss. The only victory is in the fight itself. Or so says a man with no fists entering a ring of life. This piece is a part of a 12-piece series titled "CATCH" - the pieces share the format as well as the main motif of the juxtaposition of the fish world with the human world. Each of the pieces is created in a fish crate collected from a beach on the east coast of Istria, Croatia. Violent north-western winds knock these crates overboard from fishing boats coming in and out of the harbor. Each piece is a tableau of sort representing a stage in the development of human destiny. The crowd is going wild. But the problem is that you're not the crowd favorite. You're the underdog. You're less than the underdog. You're the underfish.
