About The Artwork

This piece is wall art and has screen title credit in writer director Steven Chboskys first film which rocked them at Sundance. It to me is very funny I guess too edgy for family viewing? Steve referred to FLY ON AN M&M as anti-corporate. I was working on the painting when he was filming in my studio for "the four corners of nowhere" and starting to write the perks(ask me why I think the first page which explains his vignette format and to whom he writes his letters is actually ME!) Im an extra in it btw, and actually it is the second film I have graced I am also in James Ivorys "Slaves of New York" starring Bernadette Peters, James Ivory has brilliant Blue eyes and an intense gaze, like he is looking through you to your soul, inspiring.

Hi there! a proud Detroiter by birth I started as a Window Dresser in Chicago's Magnificent Mile during the mid 70's. Working first for I Magnin becoming there youngest executive. However i settled in at Guccis for 5yrs where I was thrilled to meet visiting from NY Dr Aldo Gucci some of my other clients included Courrege, Jaeger and Elizaberth Arden. I learned Fashion is very much an Art and that people dress themselves for a reason most of us to be seen. I also picked up an Itallian thing, Sent'e. Moved to Manhattan in the 80;s focused on entertainment art and installations at the Limelight Nightclub for none other than Mr. Peter Gatien, and was replaced by none other than Mr Michael Alig, it was so thrilling working with some uninhibited talented artists, art is in the air. My highlight may have been meeting by Mr jack Lenor larson, in retrospect I think it would have helped to know Feng Shui I know now. Ha NYC is awesome for meeting great people, I learned so much and I love to learn. Now back in Ann Arbor MI it was in the early 90's that I met Steve Chbosky, my guest at a huge gallery party thrown in a great space it was super well attended and lasted all night. The next morning Steves film trucks arrived and stayed a couple weeks, he seemed very sweet and bright maybe quiet(or perhaps its always quiet on set) I was only on one other for James Ivory and I met the star OMG Bernadette Peters. Im wandering. Steve was very cool. Cute and focused (I now know Steve through his work)and had an extremely loyal crew including his producer friend Julian. While filming in my studio a collection of my paintings was selected by a Ms Patricia Moore and featured in this first "breakthrough" film "the four corners of nowhere" It is Hilarious! I received screen title credit and the paintings are in some very memorable scenes at the "Cafe Pretentious". The film remains largely underground for now. (trailer) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pa7vty1xyeU But to me art and underground go just fine together. Oh and Based on his next projects first page the also really, really funny 'Perks" Novella and events at my studio sometimes have me convinced I'm the person he is writing to. I received a second "Special Thanks to artist Tom Mckernan" screen credit? Though it lists practically the entire lower peninsula I am the only one to get two.
