Francis Fox II Painting

This is a mixed media painting on canvas which includes acrylic, felt, fabric, and yarn. This artwork will arrive stretched and ready to hang. Here's a bit more about my practice: Through painting and sculpture, Los Angeles-based world builder Emily Veldman captures the narratives of her fictional land. She creates imaginary safe spaces to heal and cope with mental health in her work. Her world is an escape from the harsh realities of adulthood. On the blank canvas, she blocks out the responsibilities and anxieties of adulthood. She replaces them with a colorful fantasy landscape, setting the stage with patterns, bright colors, and composition. Combining these elements transports the audience to an altered Los Angeles where personified flowers and animals live and play. These residents capture the carefree attitude and simplicity of a healthy life. A balance that Veldman tries to find for herself and hopes others can discover as well.
