How do we make the most of our circumstances, limitations, and options? The Tick Lingma Tière lives in a bubbly world. He has the forearms of a crab, back legs of an insect, and horns that resemble cranes. He has hair, scales, and a feathery mustache. He contemplates whether he should make an escape. He could go below the manhole, but he might never find his way back. Or he can take his Prozac pill, but will his reality really improve? He's trying to keep things simple, but life gets complicated. This piece is painted with acrylic on fiberboard. The back panel is a reclaimed cabinet door and as such, has fastener/hardware imprints on the reverse. The Tick is painted on 2 additional layers of fiberboard. The pill is painted on carved wood. The work includes a Shadow Box style frame of Honduran Mahogany. The recess from the frame's edge to the painted background measures 1.25 inches. The panel is quite sturdy. It weighs approximately 15 pounds. The backside has 2 keyhole slots for hanging. A template for placement will come with the painting, along with a certificate of authenticity.

Meet Elizabeth Criss, a talented Los Angeles native with a B.A. in art from California State University, Northridge. Her creative vision takes you on a striking journey through the complexities and wonders of everyday life. On top of that, she does it while keeping Mother Nature in mind! Elizabeth's art is infused with a deep environmental concern for sustainability, and she works magic with repurposed materials. She strives to inspire viewers to consider their environmental impact, shedding light on the negative consequences of disposable conveniences for future generations. Elizabeth's work truly shines with her passion for public art installations. Elizabeth has created awe-inspiring murals and dimensional installations for schools, special needs programs, and public libraries. She works to engage and inspire her viewers by transforming dreary spaces into vibrant wonderlands, igniting people’s imaginations and reminding us all of our boundless potential. Her artistic journey began when she enrolled her non-verbal daughter in a special needs school. The corridors were as dull as dishwater, and Elizabeth couldn't stand it. So, she dedicated a decade to infusing those hallways with innovative assemblage panoramas and vibrant colors. The result? Corridors full of motivation for children to discover their voice and recognize their strengths. Her recent "Message in a Bottle" installation at the Wildling Museum in Solvang, California, USA, immerses viewers in an underwater world, with peculiar fish, medicine bottle kelp, and lacey jellyfish cut from milk jugs. The installation invokes viewers to consider their impact on our oceans – and their ability to reduce plastic pollution. Elizabeth's tactile techniques create an engaging experience while reminding us that impressive accomplishments are attainable even in the face of daunting obstacles. The remarkable artistry of Elizabeth Criss has caught the attention of esteemed media outlets such as the Los Angeles Times, Daily News, and others.
