About The Artwork
The Galaxy painting belongs to a unique, original collection of energetic paintings entitled Korean Kimchi. These works were created entirely on the picturesque Geoje Island in South Korea, known as the country of kimchi. The paintings from this collection are inspired by Korean culture, where tradition is constantly intertwined with modernity. The Galaxy image is my vision of the galaxy, the starry sky seen in three dimensions. The painting Galaxy was the subject of the exhibition of the International Festival of Cultures on Geoje Island in October 2019, where I was the only artist representing Poland. This painting is also part of the permanent exhibition at Vivace Restaurant in Okpo, Geoje in South Korea in 2020.

Welcome to Martina “Orzi” Orzechowska Studio! I’m Martina, an abstract expressionist painter. I grew up in Poland, then moved and established by family in Norway and currently live in South Korea. My art is a colourful interpretation of the human story (feelings, emotions, histories, experiences, memories) from an intuitive, sensory perspective. The painting takes shape in the making, and is an image of the soul, heart and feelings present at that exact time. My favourite medium is acrylic paint. “Why do you paint? I paint for me.
