About The Artwork
In my life there have been many things and people that I admired, envied, coveted, and spent my time and money on. You will see in this piece such icons as Elvis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and even the American cartoon character Bugs Bunny. You will see some of my favorite musicians and the lure of sex in some of the female forms depicted. Each of these represent different stages in my life… and many other American men. The art is made up of letters, numbers, symbols and silhouettes to create an interesting graphic. There are words/phrases in English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, French and Arabic throughout the piece. The use of color is eye catching and purposely distracting. However the meaning of this piece is actually very simple. In my life, I have allowed others that were living their dream affect me living mine. I got so caught up in being entertained that it detoured me from doing what my dream is…becoming an artist. My focus has totally changed and now I pray that God will let me live MY dream. The footsteps across the painting symbolize that determination and the extended hand from heaven portrays that spiritual transformation in me.
