My grandfather was a member of the Native American Church, which uses Peyote as a sacrament. In my tribe, the Osage, we hold church meetings in a constructed building called a meeting house (unlike most tribes which use a tipi). This is a painting of my grandfather's meeting house.

Duane BigEagle is a Native American artist and writer from the Osage Nation of Oklahoma. He is also a painter, poet, and college teacher. His traditional Native Osage culture has influenced him; he is also a traditional singer and Osage dancer. Image is a story for him. He loves to travel, much of his work is like "postcards" for his Osage relatives in Oklahoma. Early influences include the Japanese Ukiyo-e Woodblock print artist Hiroshige.
