What attracts us to old fairy tales? They retain the echoes of the life of our ancestors, hidden from us in the mists of time. Life has changed so much over the millennia that it seems as if we no longer have anything in common with the creatures that hunted buffalo and mammoths. However, there is something: fabulous archetypes, hooks pulling ancient images common to all people from the wells of our psyche. In ancient peoples, children entering adulthood underwent initiation rites. In almost every such rite, death was present, and the initiation rite that took place was often subjected to deadly tests, during which a child dies in a teenager and an adult responsible person is born. It was a clear boundary, a line beyond which children became full members of society. For a modern child, the adults around him do not give a clear answer how to enter this scary and attractive world of adults. Adults do not know how and are often afraid to talk to children about difficult topics, and the adolescent's existential questions remain unanswered. Nevertheless, each person still has to go through his "gingerbread house", more or less successfully. My Hansel and Gretel also passed this stage of the journey.
