About The Artwork
FRXXD© The painting was finished a week before the Notre Dame tragedy... First of all, “Happy Thought & Broken Ideologies” reflects my personal “bipolar” attitude towards religion and the church. The beauty of unity and hope it creates clashes with the authoritarian behavior of its leaders. Second, I wanted to reflect it’s vulnerability in our modern times (stained glass, crumbling), however at the same time it shows strength and seems indestructible (therefore the diamonds). Finally, I wanted to capture the beauty of its symbolisms and combine it with my adoration of colors and gemstones. The bottom of the painting has a little secret message in the form of a song title.
