A “Peace Rose” from my garden, named to commemorate the end of WW2. It has an inner yellow glow as it ages that I have tried to capture in this work. I try to paint florals in a clean contemporary style that suits any interior.

My paintings are inspired by the natural world, primarily flowers. I explore the flowing forms of petals reinterpreting them realistically but with a modern approach sometimes with a graphic quality. My style is a mixture of soft, blended brushstrokes and carefully placed tightened edges. I purposely looks for the intricacies of the petals shapes, shadows and doesn’t shy from brilliant colour. This exploration is with purpose to invoke hope as nature often does.
