ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This series of work was created in 2017. In them, I wanted to express the main values a person has, in addition to money and the desire for profit. Thinking about what is happening today, I could not forget about this series. I feel around how people are increasingly losing their calm. But how to find strength and not succumb to panic? In a panic, one can hardly act wisely. For me, art is one of the sources of strength and faith in better times. Creativity makes it possible to share beauty and goodness. I believe that this drop in the ocean can make the sea cleaner. And I am always against violence and military conflicts, against the lust for power and money, against the depreciation of human life. There are four artworks: How long can we live without money? (in a private collection) How long can we live without food? (in a private collection) How long can we live without water? How long can we live without air? - you just see it

Searching for my own path in painting took me a certain time. It has passed nine years since my first attempts to paint. However, during last several years I have started feeling self-assured, as my works reached desired level of skilfulness and artistic approach, and I really started liking them. Currently my love to post-impressionist artists' paintings became especially strong. I am often inspired by the works of Vincent van Gogh, Henri Toulouse-Lautrec, Edouard Vuillard, Albert Marquet, and Latvian artist Janis Valters. Most of all I value coloristic beauty of their works as well as the artists’ ability to show the weather conditions and the state of the nature with one brush stroke. Now I look into the future with greater confidence, think over new creative plans, and expect fulfilling them!
