I am a lover or petrified wood, proving that even though death and decay may be painful an unpleasant, the legacy that remains can be beautiful and worth preserving. Petrified wood is formed when plant material is buried by sediment and protected from decay, then groundwater flows through the sediment and replaces original plant material with Calcite, silica etc. In the reference photo, the rich colors come from trace compounds such as iron and manganese oxides

Brea’n.t is a Texas-based artist and former geology major who loves everything Earth Science. After moving across the country during her senior year due to her spouse’s military obligations, she was dealt a major blow to her educational goals since most of her credits would not transfer to her new school. After spending weeks in a depression, she realized that she wasn’t going to change and inspire the world in her bed. She got up and decided to do the one thing she lobed more than studying rocks, which was painting. Brea’n considers herself a life-long artist. She uses her extensive knowledge of geology and Earth science and synesthetic super powers to create bold-textured works of art that showcase the beauty of the natural world that is so often taken for “granite”. She uses her talents to turn rocks and dirt into art that promotes peace using acrylic and acrylic ink on canvas to create not only depth and texture, but a sense of movement. Brea’n started painting when she was thirteen years old, teaching herself how to blend colors by replicating the works of Alfred Gockel and spending hours in Thomas Kinkade galleries, studying the way he played with light and utilizing these techniques in her art. She makes art with the priority being the invocation of a feeling from her viewers, infusing love and positivity but sometimes the tormented parts of her soul. Music moves her art and accompanied with each artwork description is a complimentary playlist that aided the final product. Not only does she aim to create lasting and influential art, she wants to start a scholarship fund to assist sex workers who are trying to transition into the conventional working world, giving them the necessary funds to go back to school, start a small business, etc.
