I painted this woman in watercolours because this medium is a difficult and challenging medium to paint with. The African woman creates a feeling of pride and she is a strong, modern woman. I feel it’s impressionistic style and creates a feeling of tranquility and peace in the soft pastel colours. Yellow presents the colour of the sun in Africa. It’s a colour of happiness and joy.
