About The Artwork
I painted this piece back in 2018 inspired in Santa Lucia Church, in the town of San Cristóbal de las casas in the southern State of Chiapas in México. This painting is part of a series of catholic churches i've visited over the years and i've depicted on fire as a symbol of protest against the catholic institution's actions. The indigenous population in Mexico has been very oppressed and were stripped from their own religion to replace it with the catholic one during the colonial times, so this setting adds to the painting some more especial meaning. Its made in acrylics on canvas textured paper, Signed and dated on the front.

I was born in Mexico City in a family of artists, i grew up sorrounded by paintings. I was trainned as an artist in Dublin Ireland and I began showing my work in Buenos Aires, Argentina back in 2013. I call my style POP REALISM because is realism with a tender cartoonish touch between r. I'm fearless about expressing myself and my favourite topics are the dark human feelings, where i add lots of colours and try give them a new meaning. Many of my paintings are part of different private collections in North and South America, Europe and Australia.
