In beauty and Chaos: The second Print

I am Fatima Lodhi Khan, ethnically Pakistani but born and raised in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Growing up as a child I have always been very imaginative, constantly drowned in a world of fantasy; a world of my own. I see the world as if I were in a movie. Full of color, gilts & glamour, sometimes dark and drenched in an inevitable void of sadness. I never really knew what I wanted to do after I graduated high school. Sixteen year old me would get anxious whenever I had to hand in my economics or math quiz results to my mum. For a fact, I was never the best at academics, forever lost in my own thoughts, my very own mind palace. It was one day, out of nowhere, I started drawing. My love for sketching and art started from a small sketch of a mug, and then I was on to doing portraits and then paintning waves, I started getting my hands on different types of paints; acrylic, oils and then also got a lot into mixed media. Experimented and tried to figure out what mediums I am comfortable enough with to create extraordinary and unusal peices of art. And it was from that day I finally found what i had been searching for years! The true passion and enthusiasm to create; to do something I really enjoy. I am a self-taught artist. For me art has always played some part in my life, like an emotionally supportive friend. In one way or another, I have always been linked to it. Whenever I fail to express myself through words, art has always been a medium of true self-expression. Right when I started my Bachelors in Fashion, arts & design I sort of have this clear pathway of ways I can get creative, rather do so much more just than paint and sketch, I can have a mix of both fashion and art! I am Fatima Lodhi Khan, Abu Dhabi based make-up artist, fashion design student and visual artist . Here are few of my best works i have compiled during the course of last few years, they hold deep & special meaning to me. It gives me great pleasure to finally share them & their stories with you.
