About The Artwork
'Intuition" is an original mixed media painting (acrylic, gesso, graphite, house paint) on a stretched gallery wrap canvas. It measures 48 inches high by 36 inches wide and is 1.5 inches deep. It is varnished for protection and has a beautiful semi-gloss sheen. This painting can hang either vertically or horizontally (see additional photos) and is signed on the back so that the signature does not determine hanging direction. Wired and ready to hang. Painting abstracts can be more complicated than one can imagine. I attempt to block out a rough design of how I want the shapes to be applied to the canvas and yet as I begin to paint my intuition takes over. Layers upon layers of acrylic, graphite and house paint. It's like a dance. A little here, a little there. After a few hours, I have to leave it. I turn it to the wall so that I cannot see it overnight. Then the next day I'm back to it with fresh eyes and the dance begins again. More layers and more layers until it tells me it's finished.
