"Iridescent" is an oil painting on canvas, the original is available as well as prints in different sizes. "Iridescent" was an experimental project. I'd begun to work with oil and I wanted to really play with the medium. The texture opportunities seemed endless so I wanted to use as many oil tubes as I could and dab huge globs of paint and build up the lake that way. It was fascinating, and that process helped me to conceptualize and intuitively grow the rest of the painting. The rest of the painting came to me as I continued to push myself with the medium; using pouring mediums and palate knives to get the results I was looking for. Iridescent probes mystery and a darkness, yet also gives viewers inspiration and an inkling of positivity while moving through the painting, trying to figure it out.

I am a 26 year old living in downtown San Diego. I grew up in LA county and went to school at UC Berkeley. I went into college as a collegiate soccer player with hopes of playing professionally. That did not come to fruition, so I began to think about what else I was passionate about, and that answer was art! I was successful in the art program with a lot of features in UC Berkeley's Art Gallery, Kroeber Hall. I had the incredible opportunity to study under great artists like John McNamara, Brody Reiman, Craig Nagasawa, Indira Morre, Randy Hussong, and many more. Once graduating in 2015, I decided to move back down south where I could be warm again and afford my rent :) Since being in San Diego, I leased my own art studio and became a working artist and curator. In 2018, I produced and curated 2 large galas in San Diego's oldest most historical art building, The Brokers Building Gallery. Both galas featured between 10-20 local and international artists. I recently decided to take a leap and become an Art Consultant for National Geographic, this job I did not enjoy so I am working on building as an artist and pushing myself to create consistently again.
