About The Artwork

This beautiful female portrait/figurative painting has been painted in mixed media - acrylics, chalk paints, and wax on stretched canvas. Various techniques have been used to create this piece of art, and to give it weathered look. Whilst female's face has been finished very smoothly, resembling porcelain in touch, the background remains textured for a contrast. Isabelle's dark, navy dress is contrasting with yellow background. The pose plays important role here, making the composition perfectly fitted in the square space. The pose, female's etheric beauty and simplicity of this painting is mesmerizing, and very feminine. The painting is certainly eye catching. This female portrait would look equally fabulous in modern, eclectic or country interior making it talking point for years! Mixed media - acrylics and chalk paints on canvas. Waxed. 20 cm x 20 cm x 1.5 cm. Signed (Mir) on the front, and on the back (Malgorzata Miroslaw). Please note painting is sold unframed. Please note, colour may vary due to the monitor settings, and lighting during photo session. Thank you for viewing!

I am contemporary artist, born in Poland, and since 2008 based in Manchester, United Kingdom. I paint mainly emotional female portraits. Less or more realistic, my portraits always express my own emotions. I’m absolutely fascinated in creating mood, experimenting with face features, playing with the face expression, especially focusing on eyes. My portraits are then mainly imaginary. Occasionally, I express myself in creating lightweight, quirky sculptures using partly recycled materials, like wire, sisal, fabric, paper, and artistic, environmentally friendly, fabric hardener. I am also furniture artist, known as ‘Chameleon’s House’. Since 2017 I’ve been deeply in love in upcycling vintage furniture. Breathing new lease of live into unwanted pieces is not only environmentally friendly, and helps save furniture from a scrap, but it allows me to use my creativity and artistic skills to turn dull piece of furniture into something valuable, and desirable. Mal Miroslaw is contemporary artist painting mainly emotional female portraits. Less or more realistic, her portraits always express her own emotions. She's fascinated in creating mood, experimenting with face features, playing with the face expression, especially focusing on eyes. Her portraits are then mostly imaginary. Mal is also professional furniture artist, breathing new lease of live into vintage furniture. Her projects are usually reflecting her artistic skills and interest. She feels most comfortably in painting vintage furniture in farmhouse style, bohemian, or recreating chippy paint look or painting original art on furniture. New for Saatchi I am contemporary artist, born in Poland, since 2008 I have lived in Manchester, UK. People fascinate me since I remember. Not only their appearance but their behaviour and emotions, so after completing education in Fine Art School I aimed to study psychology but finally graduated with MA in Sociology with specialisation in Social Rehabilitation. I worked as a Social Worker and Analyst for many years to finally focus on art professionally in 2013, and soon after I started my adventure with upcycling vintage furniture either. I love to paint emotional female portraits.
