Listening to 80's music and I see this man who is in the shadows but listening intently and seemingly drifting in thought. He was alone, and that gave me all sorts of ideas about him. I didn't want to define his features; rather keep him somewhat generic and a bit dark. Was he happy? Melancholy? Lonely? Or simply just moved by the music. I'll never know, but that is what inspired this image. A very loosely structured portrait..........of someone who could be anyone. This painting is varnished in a high gloss finish in keeping with the very contemporary nature of the work.
