About The Artwork
This cheerful painting is an acrylic on canvas that I have created in October and November 2020. I was inspired by the urban pop artist Okuda, who paints big graffitis by geometric shapes and vibrant colors. Taking his work as a starting point, I made it within my personal style choosing the image of two butterflies. Blue background and the drop shadow add more depth to the painting. All colours are painted with several layers of professional quality acrylic paint, in order to achieve a uniform, opaque and bright color surface. I have also used an acrylic medium glanzed to ensure the durability of the painting. Finally, I have applied two layers of acrylic gloss varnish to protect the painting and potenciate the color. Textile canvas composition and texture: "Phoenix Professional 3D 10Figure " canvas, 100% fine cotton grain. Canvas prepared with triple layer of white Gesso Phoenix universal primer. Wooden frame, quality and finishes: FSC certified pine. Includes wooden wedges.

My name is Natalia Francisco and I am a painter and illustrator living in Spain. I work with digital techniques, like Adobe Photoshop, and traditional painting techniques as watercolor, gouache or acrylics. I graduated in Fine Arts in the University of Murcia and completed a Master’s Degree in Art Education in 2010. Since then I have dedicated a large part of my time to teaching art and audiovisual media in several workshops and secondary schools. I have combined my career in teaching with art creation, selling my paintings and illustrations to private local clients. Now I am focused on taking a further step as a professional and receive commissions. Constantly learning, in 2019 I completed a Specialization Course in Graphic Design by CALARTS (California Institute of the Arts). I am exploring the possibilities of digital painting, investigating its combination with traditional techniques in different parts of my creative process. In my free time I am also learning digital photography and video edition. Besides that, I am taking a course with illustrator Gemma Román to further my skills in Adobe Photoshop.
