Karl Lagerfeld Print

Somewhere along the way, Karl Lagerfeld decided to show up in my painting (you can see his huge black sunglasses, forehead, and white hair down right- and I have to say it was a BIG surprise). This happened after his death in 2019, when I was still unsure about where I'm going with my painting. Since I had to dig in two years for a solution, the canvas ended up being heavily textured, which I love. This taught me something about what I like to have and feel in my works. And then, overall, I wanted to create balance and esthetic. There is also a fresh vibe and I kept it pretty light, despite having that many lines and brushstrokes. As for what I've used, you'll be surprised to find here and there nail polish and paper, since I wanted to improvise. As well, I've used wax crayons, but that did not turn the way I wanted, yet I've kept a few traces from it. The canvas is framed and has no varnish. I want you to decide the type of varnish you like. Style: I would say abstract for sure, and then a bit minimalistic. I have to say the journey with this canvas, in particular, has been quite foggy. Just recently I managed to have fun with it and actually find my way back to something I like seeing in my works, photography, digital work, craft, or paintings. It almost seemed as if I entered an unknown territory back when I began with the first brushes. Did it turn out well? Yes, indeed, it has. Maybe this is a lesson about life, as we often find ourselves in unknown situations. Let it chill, work some more, and try to figure it out, rest, try again. Then out of the blue, you have it.
