'Khokana' is the artist's reaction to how the government of Nepal encroached the lands of the indigenous inhabitants of Kathmandu valley, the Newars, destroying their local settlement that comprised of traditional houses and eventually introducing a negative impact on their age-old heritage in the name of development through road expansion. The activity reached its height in the region of Khokana in March 2018 where army camps were raised whilst the army continued construction work in the land of the indigenous people against the international law.
