The Korean culture is one of the oldest continuous cultures in the whole wide world and comprises all of its history, customs, traditions, and beliefs. The hanbok (traditional Korean clothing) has a history as colourful. It was worn daily up until about a century ago; however, it remains an important part of Korean culture, with people wearing it on special occasions and holidays. That is why the theme of Marina's works is a korean woman in all her beauty. The main idea behind this collection is to show asian woman’s inner beauty and character through Korean culture. She was born on April 3, 1993. From Moscow (Russia) and currently living and working in Gwangju (South Korea). Marina Ogai is a Koryo Saram (also known as Goryeoin or Koryoin), one of the descendants of Koreans who emigrated by and large from the northern part of the Korean Peninsula to eastern Russia between the late 19th and the early 20th century. In 1937, such ethnic Koreans were forcibly relocated by the Stalin regime en masse to present-day Central Asia. The theme of her work is woman in all his beauty. She is inspired by strong woman, Korean culture, animals, flowers and nature. Marina is a sincerely believer that there's an deep bond between a woman and nature. The main idea behind Marina's paintings is to show woman inner beauty and character. Drawing has been a passion of Marina's for a big part of her life. She began with oil painting technique at the age of 15. Being an artist had been her dream since childhood.
