About The Artwork

Return of sunny days or rainy weekends, tradition of toasting with friends or family, an aperitif or "aperitif" is a privileged moment before the meal. In Roman times it helped to whet the appetite, nowadays it provides the opportunity to celebrate social cohesion, friendship and the joy of being together.

Coming from a family of crafts, it is very young that I was introduced to drawing and modeling (clay, plaster, wax, ...). Subsequently, I naturally turned to watercolor to acquire basic techniques. Then I evolved towards oil painting and with a knife before finding the vector of expression that suits me. In parallel, and through my scientific and technical training, I very quickly exploited my knowledge for the benefit of sculpture on different supports (wood, plaster and metals, ...). Light, painting, spirituality, words to tell a story of feelings. If I had to give a name to my creative process, it would be "Lumino-picturalité". My favorite themes in painting are landscapes and everyday situations always animated by a felt emotion or the desire to tackle a societal subject. In sculpture my creations find their origin through personal experiences and are translated in the form of semi-abstract and figurative realizations. For sculpture, I use found materials that I recycle to give them a second life (wood, metal, cement, ...). These materials, by their form and their nature, give me the possibility of creating characters which while keeping the defects of the support come to life. My sources of inspiration find their origin in early African and Native American art. Listed artist Akoun Certified artist and rated I-CAC
