What was the inspiration for Ladies on my mind? Ladies on my mind is a significant departure from conventional painting perspective and composition. It shows seven half naked ladies made of smooth, gradient planes, whose faces were influenced by sophisticated fashion icons. What is the message of the “Ladies on my mind” This painting is a large work and took nine months to complete. There is some monochrome quality in the artwork in the flesh tones of the female figures. This work “Ladies on my mind” is a reference to a street in Barcelona famed for its brothels. Scott profound fear of these women or, more specifically, the disease he believed they might spread to him is also a major theme in "Ladies on my mind”.
