Flames in motion are the basic motif for this picture "Wildfire". Flames have a fascinating vitality. They are like creatures that flicker and tremble, working their way out of the wood to finally blaze vigorously, unite with other flames in whirlpools and fall apart again. The picture Wildfire rolls out a scene in three parts, showing the power, vitality and transformation of the flames. Dynamics, composition and color are in the foreground in the realization of the picture. The transformation of a motif into a pictorial scene aims to draw the viewer's gaze into this dynamic. The print version only includes the middle part of the 3-part image. The original picture is in 3 parts, i.e. 3x 23.62 x 31.49 in (or 3 x 60 cm x 80 cm). The edges are painted all the way around.

Germany
Kerstin Berthold is a German artist. Her enthusiasm for shaping inner forces and movements into matter has led her to become a painter and sculptor. She creates works whose motifs come from the representational, which are determined in their realization by form, dynamics and composition. Her paintings in oil paint on canvas are created from digital compositions based on macro shots and nature photographs. In the realization with the brush, it is above all important to work out forces and movements in their contradictions. In her current series Fire, she paints mostly multi-part pictures in oil on canvas. In strong colors and dynamic compositions, she works on the ambiguous power of fire. Fire stands for warmth and light, for homeliness, adventure and excitement, but also for danger and destruction, unpredictability and fear. This is why fire is one of the fundamental themes that touches people and even occupies their dreams. Fire not only has a transformative power in physical terms. As a pictorial motif, the dynamics of the transformation from matter to energy are transferred to the viewer's inner images and associations. She says: "My pictures are material for the viewer's inner dialogue. They shape the polarizing, the dynamics and energy."
