About The Artwork
Watercolor on linen canvas, coated with gesso, mounted on wooden frame. The gesso was applied with a spatula and textured in places with fabrics or other. The painting was covered with several layers of glossy varnish. Which gives it a preservation over time exactly similar to an oil. This is a navy created after a stay in Cotentin, on the edge of the English Channel. I immersed myself in these seascapes. This watercolor is an echo of the sensations experienced while contemplating the sea. Fullness, calm, wonder at nature. The water is different at every moment. I imagined the rocks, the islands in the distance. This painting combines the lightness and magic of watercolor, with the rendering of an oil.
