About The Artwork

After finishing Academy of fine arts I had to destroy a large number of drawings due to the lack of space in the studio. I began to paint some of these crumpled drawings on large canvases. I created a series of paintings called Les dessins maux (bad drawings).

Hrvoje Duvnjak was born in 1977. in Đakovo. He enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, painting department. 2002. he graduated in the class of professor Zlatko Kauzlarić-Atač. 2005. he became an assistant at the Art Academy in Osijek, painting department. 2008. he was elected for president of the Croatian Association of Fine Arts in Osijek. He was in this capacity until 2012. In 2012. he progresses as docent at the Art Academy in Osijek, and in 2013. he was appointed as head of the Fine Arts Department. Hrvoje Duvnjak has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Croatia and abroad. He also works in animation and film.
